Recognized as a premier hand surgeon in South Florida, Dr. Shenassa is board-certified with a specialization in sports injuries, trauma, and reconstructive hand and wrist surgery. Since establishing his practice in 2009, he has become a cornerstone in orthopedic care in the region.
A proud member of the Sports Medicine Associates of South Florida team, Dr. Shenassa honed his expertise in Hand, Wrist, and Microvascular Surgery during his fellowship at the University of Southern California (USC). There, he collaborated with a renowned team responsible for treating the esteemed USC Trojans athletic teams.
Originally from Long Island, New York, Dr. Shenassa's academic journey led him to New York University for his undergraduate education. Further pursuing his passion for medicine, he ventured to Haifa, Israel, studying at the esteemed Technion Institute of Technology Faculty of Medicine. His commitment to excellence saw him return to New York, completing his surgical residency at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, aligned with the NYU/Albert Einstein Schools of Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Shenassa holds the title of Chairman of the Board at HCA Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac, FL. Beyond his leadership role since 2016, he serves as an expert consultant and educator for numerous medical device firms. These companies focus on pioneering minimally invasive surgical approaches for hand and upper extremity ailments.
